About Paul Barron
Since founding trend setting websites Fastcasual.com and QSRweb.com in the mid 90's my passion for media and technology and how it intersects with business has been a vision that has finally come to reality.  Business today must address the sweeping changes that are upon us, it's not just about social media but instead about the transformation of how business will do everything from marketing to customer service to research.  I have spent the last 18 years building successful online businesses, building creative content networks, global events and even uncovering emerging trends that have turned into a 20 billion business segment.  My passion is about results and how we can use these new age techniques to move our business into the future.

Cameron Herold: Let's raise kids to be entrepreneurs - where our restaurants need to go

What a great message at TED by Cameron, he hits the mark with what I think is wrong with the restaurant business. “We don’t foster entrepreneurs”, Ideas and passion is what being a restaurant operator is all about and teaching and grooming our kids to explore this would change the face of our industry.

We are teaching our kids to become Lawyers and Doctors, not that we don't need them but in reality the real problems of our country and even our planet are done by mavericks like sir Richard Branson, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Einstein and this list goes on. Fact is that entrepreneurs are all about challenging the status quo, creating jobs, solving real global problems and helping people become part of something bigger.

This is a video and worth your time. I am this person he speaks of and we as an industry should birth more like this every day to expand what the passion of the food industry can really bring to business world.

We touch so many lives everyday, we can change our communities, we can shift legislation, and we can influence millions of kids every year. You get the point right? We have more than 1 Million locations and 13.5 Million employed just in the U.S, imagine the impact in just about anything we want to impact.

To make that impact we need leaders and most of all we need the best currency there is, not money or gold but IDEAS that can be executed by guess what? Entrepreneurs..

Thanks for sharing Paul,

The video was inspirational! It also made me cry. I'm a struggling to entrepreneur trying to get on my feet after losing my restaurant in 2008 and real estate business. It's been a tough mountain to climb since then. Currently working on 3 new startups but its been difficult without the access to capital and a rocky economy. But I have Passion. Losing my business has made work harder to get where I want to go and be more creative for new business concepts. I have aspirations of opening my restaurant soon. In the meantime, I took it on the Road www.haro-on-the-road.com . Will keep you posted on my other ventures. Long time blog follower and fan. We briefly meet at the NRA show in Chicago.

Cheers,

Javier
