About Paul Barron
Since founding trend setting websites Fastcasual.com and QSRweb.com in the mid 90's my passion for media and technology and how it intersects with business has been a vision that has finally come to reality.  Business today must address the sweeping changes that are upon us, it's not just about social media but instead about the transformation of how business will do everything from marketing to customer service to research.  I have spent the last 18 years building successful online businesses, building creative content networks, global events and even uncovering emerging trends that have turned into a 20 billion business segment.  My passion is about results and how we can use these new age techniques to move our business into the future.

5 Industries an Apple Tablet Could Revolutionize including Restaurants

One of my Favorite Blogs www.mashable.com set this story up well in regards to the use of mobile web devices like the Rumored Apple iSlate.
If you haven’t heard an Apple Tablet rumor by now, you’ve most likely been living in a cave somewhere for the past year. It’s all anybody can talk about, especially since it could launch at the end of the month.

The Industries that Mashable thinks will be affected most are the the easy ones for sure (Publishing & Media, Medical, Entertainment, Finance and Computing). In my opinion the restaurant industry stands much to gain with the tablet as well.

We have struggled with table side devices and this may be the only one that makes its way to a fine dining restaurant near you. Imagine wine selection, or information on the restaurant table side for specials, social media connection reservations, traffic, payment, feedback well you get the picture.

Food is visual, passionate and social and what is more social than your trusty iPhone? How many times do you bring that beast out while dining? Appropriate or not the fact is we love icandy and I have a feeling if this tablet juice is true we may have the best icandy ever created for table-side in the restaurant business.

BTW don't even get me going on what Google is going to do for mobile web devices that sets a whole new way information will be available in the future. Just take a page out of the Minority Report movie with Tom in the Gap Store and we may see the future in restaurant retailing all starting with Apple. More over at www.socialcoco.com
