Pizza Hut’s Killer iPhone App Tops 100,000 Downloads In Two Weeks
Sunday, August 2, 2009 at 11:21PM This could be something that starts a wave of iPhone apps for many concepts in the restaurant business. Though I think online ordering for pizza is still pretty good and also a quick phone interface does a good job as well. Though I'm Not sure I want to play games while ordering a $10 pizza.
All in all the app is great in design and functionality. But I'm thinking this could have had a few other features or even a complete different angle. The experience with the app is all based on the Pizza and not on the consumer. If you have gone to the trouble of engaging the consumer this much you really should learn more about them and engage them in a social fashion as well.
In an upcoming post I will deliver an example of things I think restaurants should be doing with this fast paced mobile technology. The game is changing and we have to start playing by some new more advanced rules.
