About Paul Barron
Since founding trend setting websites Fastcasual.com and QSRweb.com in the mid 90's my passion for media and technology and how it intersects with business has been a vision that has finally come to reality.  Business today must address the sweeping changes that are upon us, it's not just about social media but instead about the transformation of how business will do everything from marketing to customer service to research.  I have spent the last 18 years building successful online businesses, building creative content networks, global events and even uncovering emerging trends that have turned into a 20 billion business segment.  My passion is about results and how we can use these new age techniques to move our business into the future.

Over 2 Million Mentions of Food on Twitter >> Past Month

It's clear Twitter is becoming a powerful tool for recommendations and referrals, like the term "sushi" as the most popular food term I found in a recent Twitter Volume search.  The American food "burger" was holding a strong second place.

The trends and terms being mentioned in this fast paced Social Media platform is starting to become mind boggling.  With 2.2 Million mentions in the last month of just these four terms "sushi" "burger" "Mexican" and "Chinese" the twittersphere obviously loves food.  Is that because food has such a passion effect on us that we talk about it and our kids and or our pets more than anything else or is it the power of socializing where social activities surround food?  All are good questions, let me know why you think food dominates twitter with terms?
